My partner and I had unprotected sex, and she has had a brown discharge for the past three weeks. Do I have an STI (sexually transmitted infection)? I hope that everything is alright. She does not have any pain. I want to know if she is pregnant or has STI.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Brown vaginal discharge may occur before or after periods, during implantation, pregnancy, or due to other uterine or ovarian conditions. If it persists or increases or is associated with foul smell, irregular bleeding, pain, fever, pus, or other symptoms, consult your doctor for examination and management.
Thank you doctor for the reply,
It persisted for three weeks. There has been no fever or pus. Can we potentially rule out an STD if those issues do not apply?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
If you do not have multiple partners, the chances of STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) are almost negligible. If the partner does not have any STD symptoms or history, it further reduces the chances. If there are no fever or foul smell symptoms, it reduces the chances of STDs significantly. You can consult your doctor or gynecologist for examination.
Thank you doctor for the reply,
Can a woman have a dark brown bloody discharge for three weeks and not necessarily have an STD?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
It is possible to have sexually transmitted diseases.
Same symptoms doesn’t mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
