I am 42-year-old and I was infected with COVID-19 last month. My period cycle is regular around 24 days. Before six months, I started to have periods after 34 days. Currently, I have periods after 38 days and it is late for 14 days. I have taken three pregnancy tests and all the results were negative. I am very worried as I have experienced side effects to hormone pills and devices, and suffer from stress with severe migraines. Kindly suggest.
Thank you.

As you are 42 years old, it is normal to have irregular or delayed periods at this age as you are in a perimenopausal stage. I advise you to follow the below-mentioned instructions.
Kindly consult a specialist for personal assessment.

Hello doctor,
Thank you for the answer.
I live in a very small town and I an unable to get to a specialist. I am now on day 40 and nothing yet. I took another pregnancy test yesterday, still negative, 48 hours after my third test. I know it can be possible that the tests can go wrong and concerned about getting pregnant again. Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
There are less chances for you to conceive and even if you were involved in an intercourse, you might have had it in your infertile period and therefore the pregnancy tests are negative. Pregnancy can be totally ruled out as you are perimenopausal phase, with declined fertility at this stage. I advise you to use any barrier contraception till the menopause stage to be free from any doubt.
I hope this information will help you.
Thank you.
Hello doctor,
My period eventually started on day 45, about two days earlier than my cycle prediction.
