This doctor is not available for online consultations on the platform anymore.Hello doctor,
We are a serodiscordant couple and we want our child. Please suggest to us what has to be done. I am an HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) positive man and my wife is HIV negative. I take my ART (Antiretroviral Treatment) medicine regularly. We want a healthy child without infecting my wife and my child. Is it possible with natural process otherwise sperm washing process? Please give me information about that if you can help me please respond to me.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
You have three options. IVF (In Vitro fertilization) sperm washing, using post-exposure prophylaxis. First two are safe but very costly considering technique and your status. Last option is cheap but is a little bit risky and need compliance from your wife. Your wife needs to use medicine regularly and you should be on treatment to reduce viral load. If your viral load is undetectable, and your wife on PEP, then there is a very good chance of pregnancy without being infected.
Thank you.
Hi doctor,
Please give me all details of the third option (the third option is cheap but is a little bit risky and needs compliance from your wife. Your wife needs to use medicine regularly, and you should be on treatment to reduce viral load. If your viral load is undetectable, and your wife is on PrEP, there is a good chance of pregnancy without infection).
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Please find below the answers for your queries:
1. How to use this option and all factors related to this topic?
That is a vast topic, and I cannot describe it here. But it is under use with high-risk consent.
2. Can I investigate my viral load privately?
3. What is the name of the viral load test for HIV?
Yes, you can get tested. Get a test under HIV RNA PCR viral load at any reputed laboratory.
4. Give me detail about PrEP (Pre-exposure prophylaxis) medicine, and can I get this medicine at a medical store?
The drug is Tenolam-E, yes, you can get it at stores with a prescription, but they are not readily available.
5. What is the process of taking this medicine, and any precautions about it?
Take one tablet daily for the rest of your life (until your wife is pregnant or declared hostile).
6. Any difficulty in pregnancy if my wife takes this PrEP medicine for pregnancy.
No problem with getting pregnant. It will be a natural process. The only thing is this drug stops possible viral entry and replication, thereby decreasing the chances of being infected. You can search online, as some sites sell PrEP with consent. And be sure about viral load.
Thank you.
Hi doctor,
I tested my viral load last month. HIV-1 viral load is 140 copies/ml, and the log value is 2.15.
What do I do for my family planning with the natural process?
I consulted my ART (antiretroviral treatment) center, but they did not give me a proper response. We are mentally preparing for the natural way to have our children. You have suggested PrEP medicine Tenolam-E 300 (after food). This medicine is unavailable in the local market, and Tenolam-E is available online. Are both medicine (Tenolam-E 300 and Tenolam-E) identical? Is any side effect of this medicine on my wife or child to be born? If any, please prescribe other better medication for us in which risks are decreased. What is the precaution we have for taking this medicine?
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Both are the same, with no side effects for mother and child, but the mother will have a reeling sensation, dizziness, and vomiting. Use medicine for at least 15 days before sexual activity, and do mind that it carries risks.
Thank you.
